About Me
I earned my Associate of Science degree from Chattanooga State Community College, where I completed my general education coursework. I then transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), where I am working to receive my bachelor's degree in Education with a concentration in Middle Grades Mathematics. While completing my degree, I gained valuable hands-on experience through the Grow Your Own program, working directly in the school system to support students and build my teaching skills.
I’ve been proud to be part of this school community for the past three years. I began my journey here as an Exceptional Education aide, where I supported students with diverse learning needs. I then transitioned into a full-time RTI Math teacher, working with small groups to help close learning gaps and build foundational skills. Most recently, I stepped into the role of 8th Grade Math teacher, where I now lead a full classroom and continue to support student growth and success in mathematics.
My mission in the math classroom is to create a supportive, engaging environment where every student feels confident to learn, ask questions, and grow. I aim to help students not only understand mathematical concepts but also see how math applies to real life. By encouraging problem-solving, critical thinking, and a growth mindset, I strive to make math meaningful, challenging, and fun for all learners.
