A Little About Me:
From the time I was a little girl teaching my stuffed animals and asking for a chalkboard for Christmas, I knew God had placed a calling on my life to become a teacher. As a first-generation college graduate, having the opportunity to live out that calling has been one of my greatest blessings. For the past 23 years, I have had the privilege of investing in the lives of students, encouraging them to believe in themselves, pursue their dreams, and discover their God-given potential.
I began my career at Tellico Plains Elementary School in 2003, where I taught second and fourth grade. In 2014, I transitioned to Tellico Plains Junior High to teach sixth grade before being honored to serve as Assistant Principal in 2019. Every role has reinforced my belief that education is about so much more than academics—it's about building meaningful relationships, inspiring confidence, and helping every child know they are valued, capable, and loved. It is a tremendous honor to serve the students, teachers, and families of the Tellico Plains community. There is truly no place I'd rather be.
That same passion for serving children extends beyond the school day. I am honored to serve as the Location Leader for Isaiah 117 House in Monroe-McMinn County, where we work to provide a safe, comforting home for children awaiting foster placement during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. It is a privilege to be part of an organization that reminds children they are seen, cared for, and never alone.
Outside of my work, my greatest joy is my family. I am blessed with four amazing children and the sweetest grandbaby, who constantly remind me of life's greatest gifts. I love spending time outdoors, whether I'm hiking our beautiful Tennessee mountains, swimming, watching softball, enjoying game nights, or traveling. While I cherish the beauty of East Tennessee, the beach is my favorite place to reflect and recharge. Watching the sunrise or sunset over the ocean reminds me of God's faithfulness, the beauty of new beginnings, and the endless possibilities each day brings.
I believe every child deserves someone who believes in them. Whether in the classroom, at school, or in the community, my mission is to lead with faith, serve with compassion, and leave every person I encounter feeling encouraged, valued, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.
