Biography of Mrs. Edwards
Hello! My name is Stephanie Edwards, and I am proud to be starting my 28th year of teaching mathematics at Tellico Plains Junior High. Teaching has been more than just a career for me—it's a lifelong passion. I earned my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Math and History from Tennessee Wesleyan University. My teaching philosophy is simple yet powerful: "I wasn't born to 'just teach'; I was born to inspire others, to never give up with challenges that seem impossible." I believe that every student can succeed with encouragement and support. I strive to be a teacher who not only imparts knowledge but also inspires perseverance, confidence, and a love for learning.
I am a lifelong resident of Tellico Plains—once a Bear, always a Bear! Without a doubt, my greatest love and biggest blessing is my family. I have two sons—though they're technically men now—who make me incredibly proud. Daniel, known as "Big Dan," dedicates his time to church, hunting, and Tennessee football, while working at Coker Creek Elementary. Ben recently wrapped up his baseball career at Roane State and has begun his journey as an ironworker in Oak Ridge, while also preparing for an exciting future with his fiancée, Hannah.
As a family, we enjoy spending time together at church, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, and supporting the University of Tennessee sports—Go Vols!
