Bretta Wright » Biography

Hello to each and every one of you! If you are a parent or guardian of a sixth grader at Tellico Plains Junior High, I am thrilled to be their English Language Arts teacher. Just like you, I have a child in the Monroe County public school system, and I am very thankful for so many amazing educators that work tirelessly every day to give their students such wonderful advantages! Throughout my eleven years working as a lead teacher, I was in a kindergarten classroom for a lot of that time and as you can imagine, middle school was a drastic change! I recieved a bachelor's degree in 2012 in early childhood education but soon worked toward an endorsement that allowed me to teach in the middle school world! It was one of the best decisions that I ever made, and I truly love this age group! I continued my education and recieved a master's degree focusing on reading and literacy.  At this present moment, I am working on completing a doctoral degree with my focus in curriculum and instruction!  When finished, I will officially never be going back to college as a student! Though exhausting, I am thankful for all of my education and learning, as it continues to help me implement the newest and most recently researched learning strategies and best practices within my own classroom all for the benefit of your child and his or her learning! Beyond anything I could have ever learned in a college classroom, I believe creating a culture of teamwork between myself, my students, and their guardians will create an intrinsic motivation to learn and strive for excellence! With your help, we will continue to see students grow not only in academics, but in all walks of life! Please note that I am available by email or phone. Now... let's have a wonderful school year!
