When students are absent, they need to check Google Classroom to see what they missed for any of the day(s) misses.  There, students have access to all instructions, work, videos, and handouts that were covered in class for those days.  If students don't have access to a printer, I have extra copies in the classroom that they can help themselves to.  With 139 students this year, I am not able to track students down and individually touch base with them when they are absent.
